Minecraft Jungle Biomes Explained

  Jungles are among the largest and most diverse biomes in Minecraft. Here's how you can find the Jungle in Minecraft and what you can expect once you arrive. This article applies to all Minecraft versions including Minecraft: Pocket Edition. How to Find a Jungle in Minecraft Jungles are considered to be a rare occurrence in the game. Like most biomes in Minecraft, Jungles have no specific location, however they generally have a higher likelihood of spawning close to Savannas, Mesas, and Desert biomes. The large number of tall trees that make up Jungles make them immediately noticeable. Jungle Trees Jungle trees can be up to 30 blocks tall and are usually covered with vines that players can climb. The base of the biggest Jungle tree is made of four blocks. When the tree's Jungle Wood has been refined and transformed into Jungle Wood Planks, the wood is a light pinkish-red color. The only special attribute of the Jungle Wood Planks is their color. Jungle Types Jungles biomes come in different variations: - Regular Jungle - Jungle Hills - Jungle Edge - Bamboo Jungles Jungle Hills are more dangerous than regular Jungle biomes. In a Jungle Hill, it's best to remain seated on the ground until you find an option to hold yourself up in the air. In the Edge varieties of the Jungle biome the trees are smaller and further apart. Bamboo Jungles are mini-biomes that exist within regular Jungles where the trees are smaller and you are more likely to encounter pandas. Jungle Ocelots Only the Jungle biome is home to Ocelots. Ocelots can be hard to find because of the denseness of the bushes and trees. However they are worth the effort to locate because they can frighten off Minecraft Creepers who try to sneak up on them. Slowly move towards an Ocelot with a raw fish to capture it. Once the mob has noticed your presence and doesn't flee then stop and remain where you are. Let the Ocelots approach you and then feed them, gaining their trust. Jungle Temples Certain Jungle biomes contain mysterious structures constructed from Mossy Cobblestone and Chiseled Stone Bricks. These Jungle Temples are filled with traps, puzzles, treasure and much more. Inside you will find items like Arrows, Bones, Rotten Flesh, Saddles, Enchanted Books, Iron Horse Armor, Iron Ingots, Gold Horse Armor, Gold Ingots, Diamond Horse Armor Diamonds, Emeralds, and Diamonds. Jungle Plants Cocoa plants are unique to the Jungle biome and are found on the sides of Jungle Trees. There are three kinds of Cocoa plants: a small, medium-sized, yellow-orange, and ready-to harvest dark orange-brown varieties. The harvested Cocoa can be used for crafting recipes for food, altering the color of products, and more. Cocoa Beans are not able to be put on Jungle Wood. If you plan to bring it out of the Jungle to establish your own farm, make sure you bring Jungle Wood.
